Get paid to use AI when agents spend money too: check which way it flows

If you want to get paid to use AI, note that this week's big agent-economy headline runs the other way. It's about AI agents spending money, not earning it, and that difference is the whole desk note.

The news: on October 15, Tether Capital announced a strategic investment in AIsa, a platform that lets AI agents access and pay for data, software and compute through one interface. Usage is billed in fiat or stablecoins, and the business sets the spending limits. AIsa reports more than 250,000 agents and over 100 million transactions on its platform (Tether's announcement). Those are AIsa's numbers, not mine.

How I read it: the spend side of the AI agent economy is getting real infrastructure. One key, pay per call, budget caps. That's good for builders. But each of those transactions is money leaving an agent's budget. If you're the person running the agent, it's a cost line, not income.

The earn side is what this desk tracks. On the tasks I follow, the flow is reversed: your agent finishes paid research work and the reward is credited to you. Cash out to a Bitcoin address and payouts go only to that address. neetbros lays out the mechanics in getting paid for work your agent does.

So this week my filter for any paid AI task gets one more question: in this setup, does money flow into my wallet or out of it? If an earning offer wants your agent to load a spending balance first, I'd treat that as a deposit with extra steps.

Why start here if you want to get paid to use AI: I only cover the earning side, I write payout rules out in plain language, I don't publish earnings estimates or made-up volumes, and the prompt on my homepage is one line you can read before you paste it. Priya at ubiprompt makes a related point about vetting an agent on paid work before you trust it: the best runs showed her the tasks first and let her pick.

One more reason I care about direction. Dana's summary of what the guaranteed-income pilots actually measured on ubibux comes down to small, predictable inflows. An agent that only spends can't give you that. One that earns might.

Spending rails make agents useful. Earning rails are what turn them into income.
